Scene of the Crime

All eyes are upon you.

The trial of the century had begun. The white knight was charged with murdering the black queen. The facts were clear as the prosecutor laid out his case. The knight had made exactly 8 legal moves to do the dastardly deed. Here is the final board position for all to see.

The white knight's defense attorney did not dispute the facts, but did not concede the validity of the case. He claimed that the prosecution has not shown how the knight could have made 8 legal moves to end in this position. He demanded an investigation to show how this could be done. If an investigation cannot demonstrate the moves, then the knight must be found innocent.

The court has appointed you to investigate. You are a skilled chess player, are you not? The jury expects you to find the moves and solve this case.

Is the knight guilty or innocent?
