GM Larry Evans presented this game in Chess Life February 1999 in response to a reader's request for his best game. GM Evans explained that this game brought him to the attention of the chess establishment at age 14. GM Evans won more accurate games against more worthy opponents over the board in his career (Evans-Opsahl Dubrovnik Olympiad 1950), but few as exciting as this. I am sure you will agree that the sacrificial style of play is entertaining.
