Easy Problems:
Some important notes for first time chess problem solvers:

Diagram positions like the one on the right are displayed with the white side of the board on the bottom. So, if a white pawn is near the top of the diagram, then that pawn is close to promoting on its eighth rank.

Solutions and hints are often provided in simple algebraic notation.
Many of these problems are extracted from Bain's excellent book Chess Tactics for Students.
